Applying for Other OAH Positions

Positions at OAH that are not administrative law judge positions are covered under the Washington State Civil Service Law (Chapter 41.06 RCW). Most of these positions are general government or "classified" positions and are filled from lists of names or "registers" that are maintained by the Washington State Department of Personnel (DOP).

To view a listing of current job openings, and to obtain a Washington State job application form, go to the Department of Personnel Job Information Page. Review the job announcement carefully for information regarding salary levels, qualification requirements, geographic location(s) of positions, opening and closing dates, application and testing procedures and other information. Apply for those positions in which you are interested and for which you qualify as instructed on the job announcement.

The majority of classified positions filled by OAH are in the following classifications:

  • Legal Secretary 3
  • Legal Secretary 1
  • Office Assistant 3

OAH also fills classified positions from DOP registers in the following classifications, but openings are infrequent.

  • Fiscal Analyst 1
  • Human Resource Consultant 2
  • Information Technology Specialist 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
  • Legal Support Trainee
  • Office Trainee
OAH occasionally recruits to fill positions that are either in the Exempt Management Service, or are exempted from the provisions of the civil service law. These openings are infrequent and, although they are not filled from DOP registers, they are typically included on the DOP listing of job openings.
